As some of you may be following my exploration of the topic of gun violence, I would like to point you in the direction of one of my fellow blogger’s platform on the public education system in the United States. This is highly relevant to gun violence, as we continue to hear more and more news headlines with incidences of shootings in public elementary, secondary, and collegiate school systems. Check out this blog post that discusses the ability of our public schools to define the future generation. I enjoy this post in particular because it highlights what many feel is a broken public school system that suppresses individuality and makes many kids feel that they are not intelligent. Ultimately, school systems can have an impact on childhood mental health, which, as we have seen in cases such as Columbine, can have all too horrific effects. Check out this blog for more on the problems within public school education.
